With this being my first year out archery hunting my husband and his friend took the brunt of the weight. I carried my own clothes, sleeping pad, bag, and whatever other necessities I had but the 25 pound bag was not what I had hoped to carry. Below I have listed some of my essentials this past summer.
I have this sling for my bow in the picture below. It was an easy way to carry my bow for miles. Sling was handy for practice shooting as well, just to carry around. Both sides are adjustable, you just put the velcro straps around the top of either arm, and they quick release from the strap itself for easy and quick detachment. The sling is a NAP Apache Bow Sling, which you can find here NAP Apache Bow Sling | SCHEELS.com

My release is a LWANO I got from here Amazon.com : LWANO Archery Compound Bow Release Aids Trigger (Black) : Sports & Outdoors. It's highly adjustable, which is great. It comes in 5 colors, adjustable wrist strap, length, 360 rotation. My favorite part of this release is that it is highly responsive and the trigger is long, making it even easier to increase my accuracy.
The pack was a good one for me to use on my first long trip. It was small, compact and had a 2L water bladder which was essential. This was by no means a pack that I could pack a ton in and out with. But was perfect for spike camping. And a 5 mile hike.
